The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) has suspended veterinary medicines containing diethanolamine.
VMD states excipient may pose a risk to humans
The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) has suspended veterinary medicines containing diethanolamine (DEA) over concerns the excipient may pose a risk to humans.
In a press release, the VMD said it had made the decision 'in light of scientific opinion of the Committee for Medicinal Products for Veterinary Use (CVMP)'. It states there may be a risk to humans from consuming food from animals treated with products containing DEA.
